Hey everyone.
The dish is on a two week vacation due to my work schedule conflicting with our recording time.
While I was considering recording something quick just to fill the time, Jason Torchia did it for me!
So a big thanks to him. I listened to it ahead of time to make sure that he didn't just record this to make fun of me and I got a good laugh out of it.
So thanks to Jason, and enjoy the show!

First of all I want to say thank you to all who participated in the podcast.

I also want to thank the band Windom Earle
for allowing us to use part of their song as the intro for this special podcast. They make some really cool music, so I suggest you check them out!
Right after our regular extro music you'll hear the full song we played at the start of the podcast called Guitorgan which is from the Goodie Bag Soundtrack.
After that song, keep listening cause we have the bloopers...and i think they're worthwhile.

Jenny Everywhere is a character that is free for anyone to use and, really, is a kick-ass concept. Go here for more information

-Sohmer from LFG and Least I Could Do is looking for a voice over actor to play the part of Rayne in a Least I Could Do series. You can get more information here .
I'm pretty sure that the characters are supposed to be British, though,
so I'm not sure how well accepted American or Canadian voice actors
would be.

The contest may be closed by now, but since it doesn't explicitly say so, it's worth a check out anyway.

NEWS

Find your Soul Geek
http://www.soulgeek.com

Dino Andrade, who does the voice for Skull on the PvP animated shorts has started a geek-only dating site.
looks less like a dating site and more like a convention site.
male seeking female replaced with fan-guy seeking fan-girl

The site is free to join which allows you access to most of the site.
You can recieve messages and respond to those messages which is really
the most important part of a dating service. But i think you need to be
a paid member to send out the initial message. The site faq is unclear
about this.

Paid memberships run from $9.95 to $14.95 and gives you access to
create and blog and fan fic, space to add plenty of pictures, and 7
live chat rooms. Again, the FAQ doesn't say what the difference between
the prices are.

There's a 'dealer room' which currently has 1 tee for sale, promoting the site.

Currently, their search engine only works with US postal codes so
us out of country-ers are out of luck when it comes to using one of
their search engines. Fortunately we're still able to navigate the site
and connect with others in the same city.

What are you afraid of?

A new community project has popped up on Drunk duck right in time
for Hallowe'en. It's called "Clowns, Spiders and Ghosts...What are you
afraid of?
This url is too large to show on the front page.

Created by TheMidge28, the idea behind this is to have different
artists post comics about their fears, be it their own or someone
elses. Midge posts new comics every second or third day.
Midge admits coming up with the idea one night while drifting to sleep.
The only guidelines to follow are the page size should be roughly
the size of a standard legal sized letter and should have the phrase "I
am afraid of..." along with the name of your fear.

Drunk Duck Awards

The Dish #7: For reals this time...

News:
1. Platinum Studios files for IPO

2. TMNT goes to the web

3. Robotech live action movie

4. The Kid's Book Project is now taking pre-orders.

The KBP is a project to raise money for the make a wish foundation, in
which over 50 webcomic artists draw a single page, only seeing the page
prior to theirs before doing it. 6GBP for the book, and 1GBP for
shipping in the UK, or 2.5GBP for shipping elsewhere. For each one
sold, 3GBP goes to the charity.

5. Design a New Logo For Jack's Webcomic Reviews and Win A Prize

Jack's Webcomic Reviews is looking for a new logo, and you can win some stuff in doing so. First, the rules:

"It can be any style, any theme, with just one little catch. You
must incorporate a chimp. That simple. One chimp, two chimps, three,
four, however many you want, doing whatever you want, somewhere in the
logo design. It also has to be 638px(width)by 237px(height),in jpeg
format. You can have a chimp at a desk, chimps at a computer, heck,
chimps doing Pilates, I don't care as long as it's original."

The prizes are: your comic reviewed (if it isn't already), a month of advertising on the site and a T-shirt with the logo on it.

The Dish #4 - A Very Brobdingnagian Episode

Episode number 4 of the Dish is a little long, but well worth it. Today we have with us Marc Gunn and Andrew McKee of the Brobdingnagian Bards. It was a very fun conversation that I've been wanting to have for a long time.

Unfortunately, Shayne was unable to join me today, so the news is just me talking, and I didn't have access to the music that he usually edits in, so there is no intro or exit music (will add later).

Finally, I also discuss the webcomic Tastes Like Chicken, which all of you should go and check out.

In episode 3 of The Dish we talk about Smackjeeves, a free webcomic

as well.

Our random comic this week is Return Zero, and next week it will be
Tastes Like Chicken, so if you want your opinion aired, make sure to go
to the forum and tell us.

Finally, JT from the Gigcast has created a webcomic podcast site, which
both lists the webcomic podcasts and shows you all of the latest posts
from them. Cool beans!

Finally, the very first Comic Dish podcast. In this episode, we tell you a little bit about what you can expect with the Dish, and we manage to snag JT and Scott (not Tim... sorry Scott!) from The Gigcast to come in and chat with us. It was a terribly fun episode to tape, and I think you'll love it.

You won't love some of the technical issues with it (some echo, some not-so-clear talking), but hey... it's our first.

So give it a listen, and when you're done check out Comic Dish. While you're at it, check out The Gigcast as well!
