News: Comic Dish: - Unified Comic-Making Day was this Saturday. Check out everyone's progress in this forum. What did you think of the event? Share your feedback in the main discussion thread. - Last week's Dish discussion evoked an interesting forum discussion about what makes the anime/manga style so recognizable. Join in the discussion here. - That same discussion was spun off into a game of sorts in this thread. News: Comic Dish - Aphex's Alembic Grimoire is back, in webcomic form. - Uncaring Machine's blog Webcomic Asylum is reviewing webcomics once again. - Aphex's Art Boot Camp has begun. The first drill, which involves shading a collection of basic shapes, can be found here. - Unified Comic-Making Day is this Saturday.
Everywhere else - Believe it or not, Harrison Ford will be in Cowboys and Aliens. Did he spend too long in the refrigerator? - From Newsvine: Another one of those "my favorite webcomics" lists. - For the fourth week in a row, we have a list of award nominees. This time for the 2010 Eisner Awards. - "Webcomic" is #3 on Marriam-Webster's list of the top 10 user-submitted slang words for April.

News: Comic Dish: - AoD has announced two upcoming comics that he will be working on with other Comic Dish members: --The Princess of Windmills (Launches May 10, 2010) Written by AoD with art by Hitotsumami --A.T.X.S. Everywhere else: - Girl Genius and Schlock Mercenary have each received nominations in the Best Graphic Story category of the 2010 Hugo Awards. - Time Magazine is running their yearly poll to decide the top 100 most influential people in the world. One of the nominees you can vote for this year are the "Penny Arcade guys." - Chris Cantrell is releasing a new print collection of his webcomic, Please Rewind. The book, called At the Movies contains 48 black and white pages (approx. 100 strips). - The Webcomic Builder has an article about How to Improve Your Art.
